On 6 October 2026, Consul Nina Ryszka-Olbrychowska met at the seat of the Honorary Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Łódź with representatives of UID Poland: Mr Halil Gürbüz, President of the Board, and Ms Baldan Öztopbaş, Head of Women and Secretary General, together with members of UID Poland.
UID (Union of International Democrats) is an international non-governmental organisation bringing together the Turkish community living outside Türkiye. Its Polish branch, UID Poland, works for the integration and social engagement of Turks in Poland and carries out social and cultural activities.
The visit was an opportunity to get to know each other and to present the work of both institutions. The talks also covered possible areas of future cooperation. It was a first step towards building a relationship which, we believe, will bring many joint initiatives for the Turkish community in Poland and further strengthen Polish-Turkish ties.
