Victory Day — reception at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Warsaw

The event recalled the historic significance of the War of Independence and of the victory at Dumlupınar, which opened Türkiye's path to independence. The assembled guests honoured, with respect and gratitude, the memory of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and of the heroes who fought for the freedom of their homeland.

During the ceremony the participants, together with the Consul, observed a minute of silence in tribute to the victims of the boat disaster near the city of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus. In his address, Ambassador Rauf Alp Denktaş extended his deepest condolences to the families of the victims.

The Honorary Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Łódź thanks the Embassy for the invitation and for the opportunity to jointly commemorate an anniversary of such importance to Türkiye.
